Masters of Science (MS) in Education Option in Curriculum

Participants who register for the Teacher Research Academies in biotechnology, biophotonics, fusion & astrophysics, or energy technologies & the environment can now earn graduate course credit through CSU East Bay that will count toward the Master's of Science in Education, Option in Curriculum. The Teacher Research Academy is a four- tiered professional development program offered through the Edward Teller Education Center of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and University of California, Davis School of Education.

In partnership with CSUEB, the Teacher Research Academy will now qualify teachers admitted in the CSUEB Master's program to apply up to 10 graduate-level quarter units from completing the TRA Levels 1-4 workshops. Participants interested in this option must to complete an application for admission to the CSUEB Department of Teacher Education along with an application for University admissions.

Through this Master's option, participants will earn the following credit for each workshop:

  • Level 1 – 1.0 quarter units
  • Level 2 – 2.0 quarter units
  • Level 3 – 2.0 quarter units
  • Level 4 – 5.0 quarter units

In addition, teachers who complete Level-4 will be eligible to apply the $3000 stipend towards tuition costs. The remainder of the units for the MS program can be completed entirely online. Additionally, teachers can also apply up to 13 quarter units for a qualifying credential program towards the total 45 units needed. This is a great opportunity for teachers interested in an advanced degree!
